Here at Parenting North East we love helping and we love helpers. Come be part of the change.

Volunteering can look great to potential employers and be personally very rewarding as well as educational. You could be looking to re-enter the workplace, update your skills, pay forward the support you received, be part of a community or just love supporting families. Whatever the reason we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteering Opportunities:

Admin Support:

Hours: From 2 hours per week.

Venue: Either at our HQ or at your local community session:

It’s busy and fun and some of the things our admin volunteers could do: Answering telephone enquiries, processing sales, receiving and sending mail, filing, archiving, data entry, research, hunting out stationary, handling and recording transactions. We really value enthusiastic administrators.

Community session Volunteers

Hours: From 2 hours per week

Venue: Your local community session.

You will possibly enjoy tea and cake and socialising. Our community sessions need peer to peer supporters to put people at ease, show empathy and support. You don’t need to have any formal training to volunteer. Sling Peer support training may be available if required.

Retail Volunteers

Venue: HQ

The store is a labour of love, there’s merchandise to display, price and stock take. The beverage station to keep flowing. Library slings to fold, refold and check over. You might even get to play with the pricing gun and card machine. Our people facing volunteers really are the backbone of what we do. If you’re a people person looking for an opportunity to shine then get in touch.
