Trying Out – Buckled Onbuhimo

We asked our volunteers to step outside of their comfort zone and take home something they’d never usually choose for themselves and tell us what they did and didn’t like about it. It’s been a lot of fun!

Here’s what Rebecca thought:

I usually like to wrap, I was looking for something light & simple to use.

Upsides: I found it really useful for a small quick carrier to have in my bag & gave me a nice high back carry, which was easy on my bad back.I can see this carrier would be great in the toddler size when there older as they can just stand in the leg holes.

Downsides:  I found the buckle version turned me into some t-Rex hybrid as I just couldn’t reach to slacken the straps once I had it on due to the buckles. With a 7month old I had to find somewhere to sit her down before getting her up.

Conclusion:Mixed opinions on my first time using this style of carrier, overall it’s a good quick back carrier that’s easy to use and light, I can see this carrier would be great in the toddler size when they’re older as they can just stand in the leg holes.

I think I would go for the ring version though as it would make adjustments and taking off much easier.
